Mumbai, July 15: One of Bollywood’s most loved comedy franchises, Golmaal, has completed 20 years, and actor Ajay Devgn marked the special occasion with a heartfelt tribute for fans who have supported the series since its debut.
Taking to social media, Devgn shared animated versions of the franchise’s popular characters and celebrated the journey by expressing gratitude for two decades of laughter and entertainment. His post reflected on how the fun and excitement of Golmaal have continued to entertain audiences across generations.
Director Rohit Shetty, who created and has directed every film in the franchise, also joined the celebrations. Thanking audiences for their unwavering support over the years, he confirmed that the next chapter of the comedy series, Golmaal 5, is on its way and promised fans another entertaining cinematic experience.
Released in 2006, Golmaal: Fun Unlimited started as a comedy entertainer but soon became a major box-office success. Featuring Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor and Sharman Joshi in lead roles, the film gained popularity for its comic timing, memorable dialogues and entertaining performances. Veteran actors Paresh Rawal, Sushmita Mukherjee and Mukesh Tiwari also played key roles in making the film a fan favourite.
The success of the original film led to three more blockbuster sequels — Golmaal Returns, Golmaal 3 and Golmaal Again — establishing the franchise as one of Hindi cinema’s most successful comedy series.
Work on Golmaal 5 is already underway, although its storyline remains under wraps. Earlier this year, Rohit Shetty announced that Akshay Kumar would be joining the upcoming film. A promotional video also confirmed the return of franchise favourites Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Kemmu, Tusshar Kapoor, along with Sharman Joshi, who reunites with the team after a long gap.
Golmaal 5 is being produced by Rohit Shetty Picturez in collaboration with T-Series, with expectations already running high among fans eager to see the beloved comedy return to the big screen.
