Rohit Shetty Firing Case Linked to Bishnoi Gang Mumbai Police Reveal Motive

Investigators say attack aimed at intimidation with alleged connection to Salman Khan

Mumbai- The Mumbai Police have concluded their investigation into the firing incident outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence in Juhu, stating that the attack was carried out by members linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

According to officials, the motive behind the incident was not extortion but an attempt to create fear within the film industry. Investigators believe the targeting of Shetty was linked to his professional association with actor Salman Khan, who has previously received threats from the same gang.

Police said a detailed charge sheet running into nearly 2,000 pages has been prepared and will be submitted in court. The findings suggest that the incident was part of a broader pattern aimed at sending a message to individuals connected to the film industry.

Authorities have so far arrested 15 individuals in connection with the case, including the alleged shooter. Several others believed to be involved in planning and executing the attack remain absconding. Police said coordinated operations were conducted across multiple cities to trace the accused.

Investigators also pointed to past incidents linked to the gang, indicating a continuing pattern of targeting high-profile individuals. Officials said there was no direct financial demand made in this case, reinforcing the theory that the act was intended to intimidate.

The accused have been booked under provisions of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, which deals with organised criminal activity. Police added that further investigation is ongoing to identify remaining suspects and establish the full extent of the conspiracy.

The case has raised fresh concerns over security for public figures and the influence of organised crime networks, with authorities emphasising strict action against those involved.
