Karol Bagh Building Fire Brought Under Control, Two PG Residents Rescued Safely
Two students rescued safely as five fire tenders, Delhi Police and emergency teams launch coordinated operation; investigation into the cause of the blaze underway.
A fire broke out in a multi-use building in Delhi’sKarol Bagh area on Wednesday, triggering a swift emergency response from the Delhi Fire Service and local police. Authorities confirmed that two students residing in a paying guest (PG) accommodation on the upper floor were safely evacuated, while firefighting operations continued to prevent the flames from spreading.
According to officials, the affected building housed a small leather shoe manufacturing unit on the ground floor, while the upper floors were being used as a PG facility. Soon after information about the blaze was received, multiple fire tenders and police teams rushed to the location to begin rescue and firefighting operations.
A total of five fire tenders were deployed to the site to bring the situation under control. Firefighters entered the premises and successfully rescued the two students trapped inside the PG accommodation. No injuries or casualties had been reported at the time of filing this report.
Senior police officers, along with local police personnel, remained present at the spot to supervise rescue efforts and ensure public safety. Officials also implemented traffic diversions around the affected area to facilitate the smooth movement of emergency vehicles and avoid congestion near the incident site.
Authorities said the fire was confined through coordinated efforts between the Delhi Fire Service and Delhi Police. Rescue teams continued to inspect the building to ensure that no one else was trapped inside and to eliminate any possibility of the fire reigniting.
The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Officials stated that a detailed investigation will be carried out after the cooling operations are completed. Technical experts are also expected to examine the building to assess the extent of structural damage caused by the blaze.
