After witnessing incessant spells of rainfall, Mumbai is experiencing relief as the weather returns to normal today. Daily life in the city is back on track, and all schools and colleges in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation area are running as usual. The BMC has urged parents not to trust any rumors about the closure of educational institutes without official information and to stay in touch with school and college administrations.
Meanwhile, various parts of Maharashtra continue to be lashed by rains. Heavy spells of rain have created flood-like situations in districts including Pune, Ratnagiri, Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, and Latur. The heavy rainfall has significantly affected Pune and its surrounding areas, causing disruptions in traffic on the national highway. In Satara, continuous rainfall in the Koyna dam area has led the District Collector to order the closure of all tourist places in Mahabaleshwar. The Warna and Koyna rivers in Sangli have overflowed into farmlands, disrupting daily life. Kolhapur city’s plain areas are witnessing rising water levels due to the increased water in the Panchganga River. The Jagbudi River in Ratnagiri continues to flow above the danger mark. In Nandurbar, incessant rains have disrupted railway services on the Surat-Bhusawal route.
