Manav Rachna Launches Advanced Digital Dentistry and Implantology Centres in Faridabad

Faridabad, July 24: Manav Rachna Dental College (MRDC) has expanded its clinical and academic infrastructure with the inauguration of three specialised centres focused on digital dentistry, implantology and temporomandibular disorder (TMD) care. The initiative is aimed at integrating advanced dental technologies into patient treatment and professional education.

The newly launched facilities include the Centre for Digital Dentistry, the Centre for Advanced Oral Implantology under the Department of Futuristic Dentistry, and the Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD) Centre under the Department of Prosthodontics. Together, the centres offer digital diagnosis, smile design, computer-guided implant planning and specialised treatment for jaw-related disorders.

The centres were inaugurated by Lt. Gen. Dr. Vimal Arora, Chief Clinical Officer, Clove Dental, who highlighted the growing importance of digital workflows in modern dentistry. He said that exposure to advanced technologies during academic training would prepare students for contemporary clinical practice while helping patients benefit from more precise diagnosis and predictable treatment outcomes.

Dr. Puneet Batra, Pro Vice Chancellor (Health Sciences) and Dean of the School of Dental Sciences and School of Allied Health Sciences at MRIIRS, said the new facilities would strengthen teaching, research and patient care by integrating cutting-edge digital technologies into the institution’s academic ecosystem.

The Centre for Digital Dentistry features intraoral 3D scanning, CAD/CAM technology and digital smile design, enabling accurate treatment planning and faster fabrication of selected dental restorations. By reducing dependence on conventional impressions and external laboratories, the centre is expected to improve both patient comfort and treatment efficiency.

The Centre for Advanced Oral Implantology is equipped with Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), digital implant planning and computer-guided implant surgery systems, allowing clinicians to deliver precision-based implant procedures using advanced three-dimensional imaging.

The newly established TMD Centre offers specialised diagnosis and treatment for disorders affecting the jaw joint and associated muscles. Equipped with surface electromyography (EMG), Joint Vibration Analysis (JVA) and digital occlusal analysis systems, the centre will provide evidence-based care for patients experiencing jaw pain and joint dysfunction.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ashish Kakar, Director of Manav Rachna Centre for Dental Excellence, said digital technologies enable clinicians to make more informed treatment decisions while improving workflow efficiency and patient experience. Dr. Pankaj Dhawan, Head of the Department of Futuristic Dentistry and Implantology, added that hands-on training with modern equipment would help students adapt to evolving industry standards.
