Strict Action Against Obstructions in Mukhyamantri-Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana: CM Eknath Shinde’s Directives

CM Shinde Ensures Corruption-Free Implementation and Speedy Processing of Women's Welfare Scheme

Mumbai, July 3 2024 : Chief Minister Mr. Eknath Shinde has mandated stringent action against any officers or employees who obstruct, delay, or demand money from women seeking necessary certificates or assistance in filling out forms for the Mukhyamantri-Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. Emphasizing transparency and speed, Shinde directed district magistrates to oversee the entire process and appoint nodal officers in each district for effective monitoring.

In a decisive move against corruption, the Chief Minister declared a zero-tolerance policy for brokers and middlemen exploiting women under the guise of providing required documents or form-filling services. He assured that any such activities detected within any office would result in severe action against both the office chief and the involved middlemen.

This announcement came during a meeting chaired by CM Shinde at Vidhan Bhavan, aimed at ensuring the transparent and swift implementation of the scheme. Recognizing the rush for registration, the application deadline has been extended to August 31, 2024.

The Mukhyamantri-Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, designed to uplift the women of the state, promises a monthly allowance of ₹1500, amounting to ₹18000 annually. With a substantial budget allocation of ₹46,000 crore, this scheme is envisioned as ‘Mahercha Aaher’ (a gift from parents) for the state’s women.

Shinde urged officials to streamline the registration process, minimizing the need for women to queue up for long hours. He emphasized that the women beneficiaries, affectionately referred to as ‘beloved sisters,’ should encounter no hindrances in accessing the scheme’s benefits.

The state government remains committed to implementing various welfare schemes to significantly improve the lives of women across Maharashtra.
