Sports University of Haryana Resolves Administrative Challenges, Removed from UGC Defaulter List

Institution Clears Misunderstandings, Reaffirms Commitment to Excellence in Sports Education

Rai, Sonipat, July 3, 2024: The Vice Chancellor of Sports University of Haryana, Sh. Ashok Kumar, has announced that the university has successfully resolved recent administrative challenges and is no longer on the University Grants Commission (UGC) defaulter list.

The university, which began its inaugural academic session in September 2023, received UGC affiliation in April 2024. However, as a new institution, certain administrative processes, such as the appointment of the Ombudsman (Lokpal), took longer than expected. This delay resulted in the university being temporarily placed on the UGC’s defaulter list.

“Unfortunately, this situation was exploited by some individuals on social media who misrepresented the facts, attempting to tarnish the reputation of Haryana’s first Government Sports University,” said Sh. Ashok Kumar. “We want to clarify that these claims were unfounded and aimed solely at maligning the institution’s image.”

The university is pleased to inform the public that the appointment of the Lokpal has now been finalized, and the UGC has promptly updated its records. The Sports University of Haryana has been removed from the defaulter list, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of governance and transparency.

“We urge the public and our students to disregard any misleading information circulated during this period,” Sh. Ashok Kumar added. “The Sports University of Haryana remains dedicated to its vision of becoming a premier institution for sports education, providing our students with top-class facilities and opportunities.”

The university’s swift resolution of these administrative issues underscores its dedication to its mission and its community, ensuring a bright future for its students and staff.
