Michigan tornado warning: Severe storms spark outages, flood alerts across multiple counties

A powerful storm system swept across Michigan late Tuesday night, bringing dangerous weather conditions that triggered tornado warnings, flood alerts, and widespread power outages. Authorities issued urgent advisories as the system intensified rapidly, affecting several parts of the state.

The National Weather Service confirmed that tornado warnings were issued for areas including Monroe, South Monroe, Dundee, Allegan, Otsego, and Plainwell, as the storm moved swiftly across the region under conditions favorable for severe weather activity.

Amid the developments, a video recorded near Allegan gained traction online, capturing the intensity of the storm with strong winds, heavy rainfall, and low visibility. The visuals offered a ground-level view of the impact as the weather system passed through.

As a precaution, a large number of counties were placed under tornado watch. These include Kent, Ingham, Kalamazoo, Ottawa, Jackson, Muskegon, Calhoun, Eaton, Allegan, Van Buren, Montcalm, Clinton, Barry, Ionia, Isabella, Gratiot, Newaygo, Mecosta, Mason, Oceana, Clare, Osceola, Lake, Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Genesee, Washtenaw, Livingston, Monroe, Saginaw, St. Clair, Bay, Lenawee, Lapeer, Midland, Shiawassee, Tuscola, Sanilac, and Huron.

The severe weather also caused widespread power disruptions, leaving many residents without electricity as utility crews worked to restore supply. Continuous rainfall further increased the risk of flooding in several low-lying areas, prompting additional caution from authorities.
