Chirag Paswan Stops Convoy to Help Injured Woman During Punjab Visit

Jalandhar: Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president Chirag Paswan came to the aid of an injured woman during his visit to Punjab after spotting her lying on the roadside near Jalandhar.

The incident took place near Dera Sachkhand Ballan, where Paswan was travelling by road from Amritsar to Jalandhar as part of his political tour. On noticing the injured woman, he immediately instructed his convoy to stop and rushed towards the accident victim.

Videos circulating on social media show Paswan approaching the woman and directing members of his team to provide immediate assistance. She was later shifted to a nearby hospital in one of the vehicles accompanying the minister so that she could receive urgent medical attention.

The gesture drew attention online, with many praising the prompt response shown by the Union Minister during his journey.

Earlier in the day, Paswan visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar to offer prayers and also paid homage at the Jallianwala Bagh Memorial along with his mother. During his Punjab visit, he also visited Dera Sachkhand Ballan, a prominent religious centre.

Speaking to reporters, Paswan described Punjab as his maternal home and said the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) is actively working to strengthen its organisation in the state ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. He said the party is preparing to expand its political presence and is making organisational efforts across Punjab.

Responding to questions on activist Sonam Wangchuk‘s ongoing hunger strike, Paswan said peaceful protest is a democratic right but stressed that dialogue remains the most effective way to resolve differences. He said discussions between stakeholders are preferable to prolonged fasts and expressed support for transparent reforms in the education sector through constructive engagement.

The Punjab Assembly elections are expected to be held early next year, and Paswan indicated that his party intends to play an active role in the electoral contest.
