PM Modi to Launch ₹17,900 Crore Development Push in Andhra Pradesh, Inaugurate Viveka Smaraka in Mysuru

New Delhi, July 31, 2026;

PM Modi Visit on August 1 will see Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurate the Bhogapuram International Airport and launch development projects worth over ₹17,900 crore in Andhra Pradesh before visiting Mysuru, Karnataka.

The Prime Minister’s first stop will be Bhogapuram in Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagaram district, where he will inaugurate the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport. Developed through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model at an investment of over ₹5,640 crore, the new Greenfield airport is designed to accommodate nearly six million passengers every year and is expected to significantly improve air connectivity across the region.

The airport features advanced digital systems, including artificial intelligence-based operations, biometric passenger processing, automated baggage handling and intelligent monitoring technologies. Sustainability has also been integrated into the project through a solar power plant, rainwater harvesting, energy-efficient systems, electric vehicle charging infrastructure and smart building management solutions. Its architecture reflects Andhra Pradesh’s cultural heritage, drawing inspiration from traditional Chuttilu homes, the Araku Valley landscape and the form of a flying fish.

During the programme, the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for Andhra Pradesh’s first semiconductor manufacturing facility in Visakhapatnam. The project, to be developed by ASIP Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with South Korea‘s APACT under the India Semiconductor Mission, involves an investment of more than ₹460 crore. Once operational, the facility is expected to manufacture around 96 million semiconductor chips annually while creating skilled employment and strengthening the state’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem.

In the renewable energy sector, foundation stones and inaugurations will cover multiple transmission projects being executed by POWERGRID. These include the Kurnool-IV Renewable Energy Zone transmission system, along with completed transmission infrastructure for renewable energy zones in Kurnool and Ananthapuram. Together, these projects are expected to improve evacuation of renewable power, strengthen the national grid and support India’s clean energy transition.

The Prime Minister will also dedicate and launch National Highway projects worth over ₹1,880 crore. These include key stretches of NH-365BG, the Tadipatri Bypass on NH-67 and the foundation stone for a high-level bridge on NH-565. The road projects are expected to improve regional connectivity, reduce travel time, ease congestion and enhance road safety across several parts of Andhra Pradesh.

Later in the day, Prime Minister Modi will travel to Mysuru, Karnataka, to inaugurate the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre, known as Viveka Smaraka, at the Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama. The centre has been established to commemorate Swami Vivekananda’s visit to Mysuru in 1892, a significant chapter in his journey before addressing the Parliament of Religions in Chicago the following year.

Spread across more than 81,000 square feet, the new cultural complex houses a 4-D experience centre, exhibition galleries, an amphitheatre, library, meditation and yoga hall, classrooms, conference facilities and dedicated spaces for students preparing for competitive examinations. The centre aims to promote value-based education, leadership skills and personality development among young people through various educational and training programmes.

The Prime Minister is also scheduled to address public gatherings at both Bhogapuram and Mysuru during his visit.
