A food safety concern has emerged after a passenger travelling on the MysuruChennai Vande Bharat Express claimed to have found an adhesive gel packet inside a meal served during the journey. The incident has sparked fresh discussion over food quality and hygiene standards in railway catering services.

According to the passenger, D. Sekhar, a resident of Kathirvedu, the incident took place while travelling on Train No. 20608 from Mysuru to Chennai. Meals were distributed by the onboard catering staff, and while opening the food tray, he allegedly noticed an adhesive gel packet placed along with the meal.

The passenger immediately brought the matter to the attention of fellow travellers, who also expressed concern over the quality control measures followed before food is packed and served on premium trains. Several passengers reportedly questioned how such a packet could have entered a sealed meal tray.

The incident has once again highlighted the importance of maintaining strict hygiene and quality checks in railway catering services. Passengers expect meals served on premium trains like Vande Bharat Express to meet the highest standards of food safety and packaging.

Railway authorities and IRCTC have not issued an official response regarding the matter at the time of publishing. However, passengers have urged officials to investigate the incident thoroughly and strengthen inspection mechanisms to ensure similar cases do not recur.
