New Delhi, July 22, 2026;
The Central government has strengthened security arrangements in the national capital by deploying 20 additional companies of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) as authorities prepare for heightened political activity, demonstrations and the ongoing Parliament session.
Officials said the additional personnel have been brought to Delhi from West Bengal to support the existing security network and assist local police in maintaining law and order. The reinforcement comes in view of protests led by the CJP and the possibility of large public gatherings at several locations across the city.
Security has been intensified around Parliament House, key government offices, protest sites and other sensitive areas. Barricades, enhanced surveillance and increased patrolling have also been put in place to ensure public safety and prevent any untoward incidents.
Authorities stated that the deployment is a precautionary measure aimed at ensuring smooth conduct of parliamentary proceedings while allowing security agencies to respond swiftly to any law-and-order situation. Delhi Police and central paramilitary forces are working in coordination to monitor developments and manage crowd movement.
Officials have appealed to citizens to cooperate with security personnel and follow traffic advisories issued during the period of heightened security.
