Unique Shiv Temple in UP: Devotees Offer Hand Pumps Instead of Prasad at Baba Ekottarnath Dham

According to local beliefs, the temple’s origins date back to ancient times and are associated with Indra. It is said that after being cursed by sage Gautama, Indra स्थापित several Shivlings along the Gomti River to seek redemption. The 71st Shivling in this series is worshipped as Baba Ekottarnath.

Devotees strongly believe that even today, Indra visits the temple every night to perform the first पूजा. Marks found inside the temple when its doors open in the morning are often cited as signs of this divine ritual.
