The 15-year-old opener smashed a blistering 97 runs off just 29 deliveries, narrowly missing out on a century while producing one of the most destructive batting displays in IPL history. His innings included five boundaries and 12 towering sixes at an astonishing strike rate of over 334.
With this remarkable performance, Sooryavanshi surpassed former West Indies star Chris Gayle for the highest number of sixes hit in a single IPL season as well as in any T20 tournament edition.
The young batter’s fearless approach put Rajasthan Royals in complete control of the high-pressure knockout clash and played a crucial role in guiding the team into Qualifier 2 of the tournament.
