Chandigarh- Rajasthan Royals’ teenage prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continues to redefine T20 batting with his fearless approach, drawing high praise from veteran India batter Cheteshwar Pujara during the ongoing IPL 2026.

The 15-year-old opener delivered a blistering performance against Punjab Kings, smashing 43 runs off just 16 balls in a high-pressure chase of 223 in New Chandigarh. His explosive Powerplay assault, which included five sixes, set the tone for Rajasthan Royals’ successful run chase and left the opposition struggling to regain control.

Pujara, speaking during the broadcast, described watching Sooryavanshi bat as “pure cinema,” highlighting the youngster’s fearless mindset and ability to dominate even when bowlers anticipate his aggressive intent. He noted that the teenager’s consistency and attacking approach in the early overs give his team a decisive advantage.

Despite Punjab Kings posting a formidable total of 222/4, Sooryavanshi’s early blitz ensured Rajasthan remained ahead of the required rate. The middle overs saw a brief comeback from Punjab, led by Yuzvendra Chahal, who impressed with a three-wicket spell and clever variations.
