Mathura, October 22: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached Mathura on a one-day visit on Tuesday, where he presided over the seventh board meeting of the Uttar Pradesh Braj Tirtha Vikas Parishad. During the meeting, he reviewed the district’s development projects and law and order situation.
Presentations were made on key initiatives, including Braj Tirth Path Project, Govardhan Connect Project in Mathura-Vrindavan, development of alternative transportation to replace the Mathura-Vrindavan rail/ bus Route, and the development of the Raya Urban Node in Mathura by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the need for a comprehensive development strategy in the district. He instructed officials to visit Ayodhya and Kashi to draw inspiration and implement new dimensions of development. He also called for enhanced connectivity through better roads, railways, ropeways, and waterways for the district’s growth.
“There should be adequate parking facilities, along with good hotels and restaurants for the convenience of devotees. Ensure the renovation of mythological ponds through a public-private partnership (PPT) model with the involvement of social workers. Take stringent measures for the purification of the Yamuna River, and prevent drains from discharging directly into it,” he directed.
The CM further instructed that the names of MPs and MLAs be inscribed on the inauguration stone plaques of Municipal Corporation and District Panchayat projects. He also stressed that no fake settlements should be made on IGRS and the CM Helpline, and accountability must be fixed on those involved in such actions. He urged all departments to appoint nodal officers to ensure proper oversight.
The Chief Minister issued strict instructions, stating that if roads dug up under the Jal Jeevan Mission are not repaired on time, an FIR must be lodged against both the firm responsible and the officials of the Jal Jeevan Mission. In the event of accidents caused by these dug-up roads, an FIR should also be filed against the concerned firm and department, with no compromise on safety. He further directed the District Magistrate to ensure that special attention is paid to the quality of pipeline works.
Additionally, the Senior Superintendent of Police was instructed to enhance security measures by increasing foot, PRV and motorcycle patrolling.
A compliance report on the additional instructions given by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during the third meeting was presented, which included updates on the 84 Kosi Parikrama route. The meeting provided information regarding the implementation of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) prepared by NEERI for the revival of nine kunds in the Govardhan Parikrama area of Mathura.
Updates included plans for replacing mythological trees in the Braj area by removing Prosopis juliflora from Mathura’s forests, as well as projects focused on the maintenance and repair of kunds renovated over the past five years. Additionally, the development of public facilities in the Braj area with support from donors was discussed, with naming conventions based on the donors’ faith. Other key points included the acquisition and purchase of land for parking in Mathura-Vrindavan and Govardhan, as well as construction of a suspension bridge over the Yamuna River near Devraha Baba Ghat in Vrindavan and near the Banke Bihari Ji temple.
In the meeting, CM Yogi directed the Mathura Public Works Department to build the Circuit House and maintain it.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath approved eight projects worth ₹133 crores during the seventh board meeting of the UP Braj Tirth Vikas Parishad. These projects were proposed by the council for the financial year 2024-25. The details of the projects are as follows:
1. Expansion of the previously constructed Tourist Facilitation Center (TFC) in Vrindavan, Mathura district, with an estimated cost of ₹35 crores.
2. Construction of multi-level car parking near the Tourist Facilitation Center in Vrindavan, with an estimated cost of ₹38 crores.
3. Development of offshore/coastal facilities at six selected sites from Vishram Ghat to KC Ghat along the Yamuna River in Mathura district, estimated to cost ₹8 crores.
4. Part-2 construction work of TFC on the land of Radha Bihari Inter College in Barsana, with an estimated cost of ₹27 crores.
5. Construction of Akur Ghat on the right bank of the Yamuna River in Vrindavan, Mathura district, estimated to cost ₹760.98 lakh.
6. Eco-restoration work in 150 hectares of selected mythological forests in Mathura district, estimated at ₹6 crores.
7. Fencing Work for eco-restoration in village Rockauli, Mathura district, estimated to cost ₹2 crores.
8. Revised project for the construction of an auditorium between Mathura and Vrindavan (original project cost ₹32.50 crores, increased project amount ₹10.54 crores), with a total estimated cost of ₹43.05 crores.
In the meeting, the action plans for the year 2024-25 were forwarded to the Tourism Directorate. The proposed projects were presented to the Board for review and approval.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed various development works and was informed by District Magistrate Shailendra Kumar Singh about the inauguration of science labs in Kasturba Gandhi Residential School in Chaumuhan and Mathura.
The Chief Minister inquired about the demand for DAP (Di-ammonium Phosphate), Urea, NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium), and MOP (Muriate of Potash) in the district. He directed that the black marketing of DAP be stopped, and distributed to farmers according to their requirements. He instructed officers to conduct regular inspections of distribution centers and to take measures against the black marketing of DAP in neighboring districts and states.
Additionally, the Chief Minister instructed the Irrigation Department to complete silt cleaning work promptly and to ensure that water is released into the canals by November 15. The District Magistrate was also directed to ensure timely compensation for homes and crops damaged due to disasters and other reasons.
The Chief Minister inquired about the functioning of the ITMS, to which Municipal Commissioner Shashank Chaudhary responded that it is currently operational at 20 intersections. He also sought information regarding the cameras installed under the Safe City initiative, and the Municipal Commissioner reported that 22,000 cameras have been installed under the Safe City program, along with an additional 15,000 cameras under Safe City Corp.
In response, the Chief Minister directed that regular checks be conducted to ensure all cameras are operational. He also instructed the Municipal Corporation to prioritize the disposal of garbage as part of the Solid Waste Management efforts.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the law and order situation in the state. Senior Superintendent of Police Shailesh Kumar Pandey provided an update on the security arrangements being implemented for the upcoming festivals, assuring that all necessary measures have been strengthened to ensure their safe and orderly conduct.
The Senior Superintendent of Police also informed the Chief Minister that, in the district, 136 individuals have been arrested in 38 cases under the Gangster Act, while property valued at approximately ₹106 crores has been seized.
The Chief Minister inquired about the arrangements for crowd control and security at the Shri Banke Bihari Ji temple. In response, the Senior Superintendent of Police informed him that additional police forces have been deployed from the zone and range to ensure security.
The Chief Minister also convened a meeting with public representatives, during which they raised pvarious issues. Cabinet Minister Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary noted that under the Jal Jeevan Mission, roads in nearly all villages have been damaged.
Present at the meeting were Member of Legislative Council Omprakash Singh, Principal Secretary of the Tourism and Culture Department Mukesh Kumar Meshram, Commissioner Ritu Maheshwari, Chief Development Officer Manish Meena, DFO Rajnikant Mittal, and other officials.
