Delhi Police Commissioner Honours Personnel for Bravery, Grants Out-of-Turn Promotions

New Delhi, June 13: Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golchha honoured several police personnel for their outstanding service, bravery, and professional excellence during a felicitation ceremony held at the Vimarsh Conference Hall, Police Headquarters.

The event was attended by senior Delhi Police officers and celebrated remarkable achievements by personnel across various units.

In recognition of extraordinary courage and dedication to duty, Constable Angad Singh Meena and Constable Manish Kumar of Mehrauli Police Station were granted out-of-turn promotions.

Both officers have been promoted from Constable to Head Constable.

The promotion was awarded for their heroic actions during a building collapse in South Delhi on May 30, 2026. Despite significant personal risk, the officers entered the debris and rescued trapped individuals. They also assisted rescue teams in evacuation efforts, helping save multiple lives.

The Commissioner of Police also conferred the prestigious Asadharan Karya Puraskar on eight police personnel from South District. Each awardee received a cash prize of ₹50,000.

The honour recognised their exceptional role during a major fire incident at Flourish Stay in Hauz Rani, Malviya Nagar, on June 3, 2026.

Several occupants, including foreign nationals, were trapped inside the building due to the intensity of the fire. Delhi Police personnel worked alongside the Fire Brigade and emergency responders to carry out successful rescue operations.

  • HC Hargyan
  • HC Dinesh Kumar
  • HC Sampat
  • Constable Surender
  • Constable Ravi Kant
  • Constable Sanjay

Their swift response and commitment played a crucial role in saving lives during the emergency.

Apart from bravery awards, the Commissioner also recognised officers and personnel for outstanding investigative work and exceptional field performance.

Awards were presented in categories such as Best Division Officer, Best Beat Officer, Best Traffic Cop, and Best PCR Team.

The ceremony highlighted Delhi Police’s commitment to encouraging excellence, professionalism, and public service among its personnel.
