D.A.V. Public School Hosts Inspiring Workshop on Inclusivity with Gold Medalist Simran Sharma

Celebrating Diversity: Workshop on Inclusivity at D.A.V. Public School, Faridabad

Faridabad : D.A.V. Public School, Sector – 14, Faridabad conducted a workshop in association with Samarth by Hyundai and NDTVon Friday, August 2, 2024under the pioneering leadership of the Principal, Ms. Anita Gautam. The event was presided over by an eminent guest, Ms. Simran Sharma – The proud holder of gold medal at World Para Athletics Championship. Her accomplishments, dedication and determination have definitely left an indelible mark on the minds of our young learners. Besides,the resource person, Ms. Sudipta Dhruva also graced the eventwith over 30 years of experience, specializing in Creative Thinking,Diversity & Inclusion, and Mindful Storytelling.

The event commenced with a formalwelcome of the illustrious personalities and guest of the day by the Principal of the school. Each one of them was addressed for gracing the event with their distinguished presence. The anchor of the day and activity coordinator, Ms. Pallavi Gulati, apprised the gathering of the initiative, Samarth. The Principal Ms.AnitaGautamwelcomed the guests with a warm address and emphasised on how the Samarth initiative is dedicatedto changing lives in a broader spectrum by encouraging people to transform challenges into opportunities.

The parents and students of grade: V – VIIIalso attended the workshop on inclusivity and learnt about its significance. All of them were extremely overwhelmed to listen to the inspiring journey of Ms. Simran Sharma. They also expressed their views on inclusivity and extended their heartiest wishes to the Para-athletes for their future endeavours. The students also made beautiful cards for the Paralympics players wishing them the best.

At the end, the Principal of the school, Ms. Anita Gautam, also expressed her deepest gratitude to our guest of the day, Ms. Simran Sharma, for sharing her splendid and highly inspiring journey.

The workshop culminated with a pledge taken by all the students, teachers and parents to promote inclusivity followed by vote of thanks proposed by the Supervisory Head of primary segment Ms. PremlataJuneja. It turned out to be an extremely inspiring and motivating session for everyone.
