Noida , 9 July , 2024 : In a significant step towards providing clean drinking water to residents, the Noida Development Authority’s Water Department has inaugurated two new water ATMs. These facilities, located at Morna Bus Stand in Sector-35 and near the Harijan Basti in Sector-37, were opened to the public on Tuesday. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M and DM Manish Kumar Verma. The water ATMs, constructed under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund, are designed to supply free, purified drinking water to the community. Each ATM has a capacity of 1,000 liters per hour and uses advanced purification processes, including filtration, micro-filtration, and reverse osmosis (RO) technology. This ensures the removal of impurities such as hardness, fluoride, and chloride, providing water that meets stringent quality standards. CEO Lokesh M highlighted the importance of these water ATMs in ensuring access to clean and cool drinking water for all. “These ATMs will operate daily from 7am to 12pm and 5pm to 8pm, offering a vital service to the public,” he said. The ATMs are equipped with an automated card-operated system, allowing users to collect up to 20 liters per card, and feature separate vending machines for dispensing one-liter bottles of cold, purified water. The initiative has been well-received by Noida residents, including industrialists and social workers, who have expressed their gratitude to the CEO and DM for their efforts in enhancing the city’s infrastructure and public health facilities.
