Lucknow, June 10: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Tuesday, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not only given India a global identity but has also turned 140 crore Indians into a symbol of faith through his tireless service. Addressing the media on the 11th anniversary of the Modi government, CM Yogi said the last 11 years have transformed service into a pledge, governance into a culture, and security into a priority—marking the rise of a developed, self-reliant New India.
CM Yogi also congratulated the Prime Minister on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh government and the people of the state for ushering in a golden era in UP, and presented the Centre’s report card highlighting good governance and welfare initiatives for the poor.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said Prime Minister Modi believes that where there is technology, there is progress—and where there is a BJP government, there is also welfare of the poor. He added that PM Modi has redefined governance as a medium of service and partnership with the people. “In the last 11 years, service has become a resolution, good governance a culture, and security the highest priority. This is the new India—an India the world trusts,” said CM Yogi.
The Chief Minister said that in the 65 years after independence, Congress-led and unstable governments broke the people’s trust and damaged India’s global image. In contrast, the last 11 years under Prime Minister Modi have given the country a corruption-free, nepotism-free, and appeasement-free leadership. He added that Modi ji has realized the vision of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat, turned India into a symbol of trust, laid the foundation of a developed and self-reliant nation, and presented a clear roadmap for the next 25 years.
CM Yogi said that in the last 11 years, India has carved out a distinct identity not only socially and culturally, but also in the areas of security, governance, and the economy. “Governance today is defined by policy clarity, transparency, and accountability. Development is no longer just a slogan—it now reflects inclusive progress that balances heritage with growth. Every citizen now benefits from government schemes based on eligibility, not identity. ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas’ has become the foundation of governance, driven by citizen satisfaction rather than appeasement. The country has witnessed a strong model of zero tolerance for corruption, ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance’ through Digital India, and unwavering commitment to national unity and internal security,” he remarked.
CM Yogi said that the 11 years of Prime Minister Modi’s government are being marked at a time when India’s military strength has been both tested and trusted globally—as seen through Operation Sindoor. He noted that before 2014, India was seen as a nation that spoke of peace, even in the face of provocation. But under PM Modi, a new doctrine—the New Normal—has emerged: while India prefers peaceful development with like-minded nations, any breach of security or promotion of terrorism will be met with decisive action like surgical strikes, air strikes, and Operation Sindoor. He added that this strength has been powered by Made in India capabilities and acknowledged by the world. CM Yogi also praised the historic abrogation of Article 370, saying it brought Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh fully into the constitutional fold, establishing a new model of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.
CM Yogi said that during the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, Prime Minister Modi gave the nation the mantra of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India), rooted in the Panch Pran (Five Pledges): building a developed India, freeing the country from the mentality of slavery, pride in heritage, strengthening unity and integrity, and fulfilling civic duties. Over the past 11 years, the government’s foundation for a developed India has been laid in alignment with these pledges, establishing India as a rising economic superpower.
He added that PM Modi’s 11 resolutions—ranging from duty, inclusive development, and welfare of the poor to a technology-driven, corruption-free governance model—have guided major public welfare programs benefiting villages, farmers, youth, women, and the underprivileged. CM Yogi emphasized that through DBT and transparency, the government has delivered a governance model never seen in 65 years of independent India. He said respect for the law, ending dynastic politics, and learning from history’s mistakes are essential to securing India’s future.
CM Yogi said that over the last 11 years, the Modi government has empowered women through landmark initiatives—from Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana and Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao to the historic Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam. For the first time, girls were admitted to Sainik Schools and women were recruited into the National Defence Academy, with opportunities to rise to top military ranks. He emphasized that under PM Modi’s leadership, respect for the Constitution—as envisioned by Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar—has been upheld in all circumstances. Since 2015, November 26 is observed nationwide as Constitution Day to honor this legacy. Protection of reservation rights for Dalits, the socially backward, and the deprived has also been ensured. The government’s commitment to inclusive development, social justice, and national integration has laid the foundation of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat. All of this reflects the spirit of PM Modi’s 11 resolutions, which have guided the emergence of a New India.
CM Yogi said that before 2014, India’s economy was unstable and lacked public confidence. Despite decades of independence, India remained the world’s 11th largest economy. However, under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership over the past 11 years, India has risen to become the fourth largest economy, surpassing Britain—its former colonial ruler—and now overtaking Japan. He added that India is the only major economy to have doubled in size within a decade and is the first country to more than double its per capita income—from Rs 79,000 in 2013–14 to around Rs 2.5 lakh today. With this momentum, India is on track to become the world’s third-largest economy by 2027.
CM Yogi said that infrastructure is the backbone of a strong economy, and under PM Modi’s leadership, India has witnessed an unprecedented transformation in this sector over the past 11 years. The pace of highway construction has tripled—from 11 km/day during the UPA era to over 35 km/day today. About 3.8 lakh km of rural roads have been built, connecting 99% of villages under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana. He highlighted that 3,600 km of high-speed corridors have been developed, and India’s first rapid rail is now operational between Delhi and Meerut. Since 2014, over 55,000 km of highways have been expanded. Metro services, earlier limited to 5 cities, are now running in 23 cities, including 6 in Uttar Pradesh. World-class trains like the Namo Bharat, Amrit Bharat, and Vande Bharat Express are redefining rail travel. Airport infrastructure has also doubled—from 74 airports built in 67 years to 160 airports today. In Uttar Pradesh alone, operational airports have increased from 2 in 2017 to 16 today of which four are international airports while the fifth in Jeear will be operational soon.

In total, Rs 2.86 lakh crore has been paid to 46,000 sugarcane farmers in the state.
CM Yogi said that for the first time, the poor have truly become central to governance. Today, government schemes are not shaped by appeasement but aim to ensure satisfaction across all sections without discrimination. Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, 81 crore people nationwide—including 15 crore in Uttar Pradesh—receive 5 kg of free food grains every month. Through the Jal Jeevan Mission’s ‘Har Ghar Nal Yojana’, over 15 crore families in the country—and 2.65 crore in UP—now have access to tap water. Under PM Awas Yojana, 4 crore families nationwide and 60 lakh in UP have received housing. As a result of these schemes, 25 crore Indians have exited multidimensional poverty in the last decade, creating a strong new middle class and driving India’s emergence as a global power.

The National Family Health Survey-5 also indicates that efforts like Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao have improved the country’s sex ratio. Amid the global COVID pandemic, India not only demonstrated world-class pandemic management but also launched the long-awaited National Education Policy in 2020, pending for three decades. Today, 14,500 schools are being upgraded under PM Shri School for foundational education. Since 2014, the country has seen the establishment of 8 new IITs, 7 new IIMs, 490 new universities, and the creation of 8.6 lakh jobs through PSUs.

While Congress governments built only one AIIMS, Atal Bihari Vajpayee added six, and Prime Minister Modi expanded the number to 23—including two in Uttar Pradesh (Gorakhpur and Rae Bareli). He added that till 2014, India had just 180 medical colleges; today, there are 2,045 medical colleges nationwide, with 80 in Uttar Pradesh alone. He cited the example of the Maha Kumbh, where five new economic corridors emerged, boosting employment and regional economies. He noted:
• Baba Vishwanath Dham in Kashi has transformed the city into a global spiritual and tourism hub, driving the local economy and benefitting surrounding districts.
• The grand Pran Pratishtha of Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya after 500 years has elevated Ayodhya as a global city, fuelling both employment and economic growth.
• Major spiritual sites—Vindhyavasini Dham, Naimish Dham, Shuk Tirtha, Mathura-Vrindavan, Chitrakoot—are witnessing rapid development.
• Nationally, Mahakal Mahalok, Kedarpuri, and Badrinath Dham have been redeveloped with modern amenities, enhancing religious tourism.

CM Yogi Adityanath emphasized that the nation is witnessing a new era where heritage is being seamlessly integrated with development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that he Prime Ministers’ Museum stands as a symbol of impartial respect for the contributions of every Prime Minister in India’s journey whereas the installation of the grand statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose at India Gate reflects the nation’s gratitude for his role in the freedom struggle. Similarly, the revitalization of the Jallianwala Bagh complex honors the martyrs and preserves the emotional legacy of India’s independence movement.
He further noted that the declaration of November 15 as ‘Tribal Pride Day’ on the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda was a landmark initiative, adding that the establishment of tribal museums across the country reflects a sincere commitment to tribal heritage and identity. He added that the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar was celebrated with national grandeur, highlighting her legacy of social reform, spirituality, and governance. Similarly, the Kashi-Tamil Sangamam stands as a remarkable initiative to strengthen national unity by celebrating the deep civilizational link between North and South India, giving life to the vision of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat. These efforts, CM Yogi said, show how cultural pride and historical legacy are now being harnessed as powerful tools for national integration and inclusive development.
