New Delhi, June 10: Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta on Wednesday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister, describing the milestone as a reflection of public trust and the country’s evolving aspirations.

Speaking on the occasion, Gupta said Modi’s leadership has played a significant role in shaping a confident and ambitious India. He noted that the Prime Minister’s tenure has witnessed major governance reforms, large-scale welfare initiatives and accelerated national development.

Historic Milestone in Indian Politics

According to Gupta, Prime Minister Modi has completed 4,399 days in office while serving a third consecutive term. He said the achievement marks an important chapter in India’s democratic journey and highlights sustained public confidence in the government’s leadership.

The Speaker remarked that the Prime Minister’s tenure has altered the role of legislatures. He said legislative institutions have increasingly become platforms for development-oriented policymaking alongside debate and discussion.

Welfare Schemes Expanded Access and Inclusion

Highlighting major government initiatives, Gupta said several flagship programmes have improved the lives of millions of citizens across the country.

He cited schemes such as Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana as examples of programmes that expanded access to healthcare, housing, financial services and livelihood opportunities.

Gupta added that these initiatives have helped improve service delivery and strengthen social welfare coverage across urban and rural areas.

Education and Digital Transformation Drive Growth

The Speaker also highlighted reforms in education and technology. He said the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020, PM SHRI Schools and Skill India programmes has created new opportunities for students and young professionals.

He further noted that India’s digital transformation has accelerated through platforms such as Unified Payments Interface, DigiLocker and the Digital India initiative.

According to Gupta, growing investments in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, startups and advanced technologies are strengthening India’s position in the global knowledge economy.

Focus on Self-Reliance and Sustainable Development

Gupta said initiatives under Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India have boosted domestic manufacturing, infrastructure development and defence production.

He also pointed to the National Green Hydrogen Mission and PM Surya Ghar scheme as examples of India’s efforts to promote sustainable development and clean energy adoption.

The Speaker stated that India’s global influence has expanded in areas such as climate action, digital public infrastructure and cooperation among developing nations. He said the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 provides a roadmap for transforming India into a developed nation by the centenary of Independence.

Sundarkand Path Organised in Rohini

To commemorate the occasion, Vijender Gupta organised a Sundarkand Path and community feast at Balaji Mandir in Rohini’s Prashant Vihar area. Citizens participated in the event and offered prayers for the country’s continued growth and prosperity.

Gupta said that leaders are remembered not only for the duration of their service but also for the impact they leave behind. He added that Prime Minister Modi’s tenure would be remembered for expanding opportunities, strengthening institutions and accelerating India’s development journey
