New Delhi: Tension flared at the campus of Jawaharlal Nehru University on Thursday as members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad held a strong demonstration against the alleged NEET-UG paper leak controversy and growing concerns over irregularities in competitive examinations. The protest took place near the Sabarmati Dhaba area, where students raised slogans against the National Testing Agency and burned an effigy symbolising their anger over repeated examination controversies.
During the agitation, students accused the examination authority of failing to protect the integrity of one of the country’s most crucial medical entrance tests. Protesters claimed that lakhs of aspirants who spend years preparing for exams like NEET-UG are losing faith in the system due to recurring allegations of paper leaks and mismanagement.
Demonstrators shouted slogans questioning the transparency and credibility of the examination process. Several students carried placards demanding strict action against those responsible and called for immediate reforms in the way national-level examinations are conducted.
ABVP leaders alleged that outsourcing sensitive tasks such as printing question papers, managing examination centres, and deploying staff to private agencies has weakened the security structure of the examination mechanism. The student organisation demanded a transparent and time-bound investigation into the alleged NEET-UG leak case and urged authorities to expose the entire network involved.
Speaking during the protest, ABVP representatives said students across the country are frustrated and emotionally distressed as repeated controversies surrounding entrance examinations are directly impacting their future careers. According to the organisation, attempts to ignore or suppress students’ concerns instead of fixing accountability only deepen public distrust in the system.
Student leaders from JNU warned that if strict action is not taken soon, the protests could intensify beyond campuses and spread to the streets. They maintained that students would continue their agitation until affected candidates receive justice and confidence in the examination system is restored.
