Vijender Gupta welcomes Ladakh Students at Delhi Assembly Under ABVP’s SERU Initiative

New Delhi, 13 March, 2025 -Vijender Gupta, today met with the representatives from SERU, an initiative of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). The Meeting included students from Leh – Ladakh who visited the Delhi Legislative Assembly, aimed at fostering cultural cohesion and national unity.

Hon’ble Speaker, Shri Vijender Gupta warmly welcomed all the students representatives. In his address, he reminisced about his own college days and shared his insights on leadership and experience from his youth. Hon’ble Speaker revealed that he himself was an elected student union representative during his studies at Delhi University.

In his address, Hon’ble Speaker discussed the historical importance of the Delhi Legislative Assembly building and mentioned plans to transform it into a national heritage site, also students were informed about the solemn fact that many freedom fighters were executed at gallows constructed within the assembly premise, describing the assembly as a “temple of sacrifice” that honours their memories.

Hon’ble speaker praised the SERU initiative for its role in promoting national unity and celebrating India’s cultural diversity. He emphasized that such initiatives are valuable for showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage and connecting people to their roots. He expressed optimism that the world is looking to India with hope and that the collective effort of 1.4 billion Indians can help establish India as a global leader.

The event included an interactive question – and – answer session where the Hon’ble speaker shared insights from his personal and professional journey. He also shared his experience of his visit to Leh and Ladakh covering the vast landscape as well as historical and religious places like Nubra Valley, Buddhist Monasteries and Patthar Sahib Gurudwara.

This meaningful interaction served to inspire the young participants and reinforce the importance of integrity in public life and appreciate India’s diversity while recognizing the importance of national Unity.
