India, US Explore New Avenues for Trade, Education and Investment During Envoy Kwatra’s Georgia Visit

Atlanta (Georgia), Aug. 4:

The India US trade partnership received a fresh boost as India‘s Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, held a series of high-level meetings in Georgia to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, logistics, innovation and higher education.

During his visit, Ambassador Kwatra met Georgia Governor Brian Kemp to review the growing economic relationship between India and the state. The discussions covered opportunities to increase bilateral trade, attract greater investments, improve connectivity and promote collaboration in emerging sectors, including technology, innovation and education. The envoy also congratulated Governor Kemp on his leadership and expressed confidence that Georgia would continue to play an important role in advancing India-US relations.

The ambassador later held talks with UPS Chief Executive Officer Carol Tome, where both sides exchanged views on expanding commercial engagement between India and the United States. Their discussions centred on strengthening global supply chains, improving logistics networks and exploring future investment opportunities. Kwatra highlighted India’s rapidly growing economy as an attractive destination for manufacturing, technological innovation and international business partnerships.

Education remained another major focus of the visit. Ambassador Kwatra participated in an India-US Education Roundtable organised by the Consulate General of India in Atlanta, bringing together representatives from 20 universities across the southeastern United States.

The interaction explored ways to deepen academic cooperation through joint research programmes, faculty and student exchanges, technology-driven collaborations and greater institutional partnerships. The participants also discussed opportunities for American universities to establish satellite campuses in India, in line with the country‘s expanding higher education landscape.

The engagements reflected the increasing momentum in India-US cooperation, with both nations seeking to strengthen economic, educational and innovation-driven partnerships that support long-term strategic ties.
