Chandigarh, 20 July – The 44th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Haryana State Bharat Scouts and Guides was held today in a dignified and ceremonial atmosphere at Lok Bhavan, Chandigarh. The meeting was presided over by His Excellency Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh, Governor of Haryana, who is also the President and Chief Patron of the Haryana State Bharat Scouts and Guides. The event was attended by State Council office bearers, District Chief Commissioners, District Organising Commissioners, Scouts, Guides, Rovers, Rangers, and a large number of distinguished guests.
During the programme, Dr. K.K. Khandelwal, IAS (Retd.), State Chief Commissioner, Haryana State Bharat Scouts and Guides, made a comprehensive presentation before His Excellency the Governor highlighting the organisation’s achievements during the past year. The presentation covered membership expansion, training programmes, youth development initiatives, national and state-level achievements, and the future roadmap of the organisation. He informed the gathering that the Haryana State Bharat Scouts and Guides has established a distinct identity at the national level through significant progress in membership growth, training, community service activities, and outstanding performances in national competitions.

On the occasion, His Excellency the Governor presented Warrants of Appointment to the newly appointed office bearers of the Haryana State Bharat Scouts and Guides. He also conferred National and State Awards upon Scouts, Guides, and office bearers in recognition of their outstanding contributions and achievements. The awards included honours for excellence at the national level, remarkable performances in Jamborees, and distinguished contributions in various fields of Scouting and Guiding.

In his Presidential Address, His Excellency the Governor highly appreciated the commendable work being carried out by the Haryana State Bharat Scouts and Guides in the fields of youth character building, national service, social responsibility, and promotion of human values. Congratulating all office bearers, trainers, Scouts, Guides, Rovers, and Rangers, he observed that Scouting and Guiding is a powerful movement for inculcating service, discipline, leadership, and nation-building values among young people. He called upon all members of the movement to continue serving society and the nation with dedication and selfless commitment, while further strengthening the Scouting Movement.
Among those present on the occasion were Naresh Kaushal, Editor, The Daily Tribune; Dheera Khandelwal, IAS (Retd.), Vice President, Haryana State Bharat Scouts and Guides; Ashima Brar, IAS; Amneet P. Kumar, IAS; Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Haryana, Mahendragarh; Prof. (Dr.) Devendra Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonipat; R.K. Gupta, Pro-Vice Chancellor; Saket Kumar, IAS; Maniram Sharma, IAS; Vijay Kumar Siddappa Bhavikatti, IAS; Geet Rathi Singh, along with several senior administrative officers, academicians, State office bearers, District Chief Commissioners, District Organising Commissioners, and representatives from various districts across Haryana.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks followed by the National Anthem.
