Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Inaugurates STEM Innovation Lab at Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in Pitampura

New Delhi, 6 August 2026 : Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday inaugurated the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Innovation Lab at Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in Pitampura. On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that in today’s world, science, technology, engineering and mathematics are not merely academic subjects but the foundation of the economy of the future and nation-building. She said that, rather than limiting students to textbook learning, it is the need of the hour to equip them with hands-on, experiment-based education, creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

Cricketer and Chairman of The One Group, Shikhar Dhawan, representatives of HMD India, senior officials from the Education Department, teachers and a large number of students were present at the event. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the STEM Innovation Lab is not just a laboratory but the beginning of a new era of innovation, scientific thinking and endless possibilities for Delhi’s students. She said the Delhi Government aims to equip every government school with modern facilities, digital technology and innovation-driven learning resources so that every student is prepared to meet the challenges of the future.

She said that the lab will encourage students to work on new ideas, develop a scientific outlook and find solutions to real-life problems. Quality, technology-enabled education, she said, will play a vital role in achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047. The students studying in schools today will become tomorrow’s scientists, engineers, innovators, startup founders and nation-builders. Therefore, the government’s endeavour is to ensure that every child has access to equal opportunities, modern resources and quality education.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed her gratitude to the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation, HMD India and The One Group for their support in this important initiative. She said that partnerships between the government and the private sector can serve as a powerful catalyst for positive change in the field of education. Such collaborations, she said, will help expand access to modern learning resources in government schools and enable more students to benefit from quality, technology-based education. She also expressed hope that similar partnerships in the future would further strengthen Delhi’s education system.
