CM Rekha Gupta orders strict action after viral video shows medicine allegedly being denied over floor mopping; vendor’s licence to be cancelled.
The Impressive TimesNew Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has ordered strict action after a video showing a person allegedly being denied medicine because the floor was being mopped went viral on social media.
Reacting to the widely shared reel, CM Gupta said, “Refusing to provide something as essential as medicine because the floor is being mopped is simply unacceptable.”
She said the individual in the video was heard telling the complainant, “Go and complain to anyone you want.” Taking strong exception to the behaviour, the Chief Minister said such conduct in public services would not be tolerated.
CM Gupta directed that strict action be taken and announced that the vendor’s licence will be cancelled.
She further said that the Delhi Government is working to strengthen accountability through the Right to Services Bill, ensuring that every citizen receives the public services they are entitled to.
“Such behaviour in public services is completely unacceptable,” CM Gupta said.
