Netanyahu Strengthens US Political Ties During Washington Visit, Holds Talks with Senators and Community Leaders

Washington DC, July 30, 2026:

Netanyahu Washington Visit continued with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu holding talks with US senators, AIPAC representatives and Evangelical leaders to strengthen Israel-US relations and discuss regional security challenges.

Throughout the day, Netanyahu held separate discussions with several members of the US Senate, including Ted Cruz, Tim Sheehy, John Fetterman and Tom Cotton. The meetings focused on bilateral relations, regional security, the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and strengthening the long-standing partnership between Israel and the United States.

During his interaction with Senator Tim Sheehy, the Israeli Prime Minister expressed appreciation for the senator’s consistent backing of Israel, describing his support as steadfast during challenging times. Sheehy, in turn, remarked that genuine alliances are demonstrated most clearly during periods of crisis rather than in times of stability.

Netanyahu also met Democratic Senator John Fetterman, who reiterated his strong support for Israel despite criticism within sections of his own political party. Fetterman defended Israel’s military operations against Hamas, Hezbollah and Iranian-backed threats, stating that he believed the country’s security actions were justified. Netanyahu praised the senator’s position, describing it as an important contribution to truth and justice.

In another meeting, Republican Senator Tom Cotton reaffirmed Washington’s strategic partnership with Israel, calling the country one of America’s closest and most dependable allies. Cotton stressed that continued cooperation between the two nations enhances the security interests of both countries.

The Israeli Prime Minister and his wife, Sara Netanyahu, also met senior representatives of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) along with prominent Evangelical leaders. During the interaction, Netanyahu thanked the Evangelical community for its unwavering support and highlighted the shared Judeo-Christian heritage that has shaped democratic values and religious freedom.

Addressing concerns over increasing incidents of antisemitism and hostility towards Evangelical communities, Netanyahu urged supporters to remain united in defending their common principles and values.

Earlier in the visit, Netanyahu also held talks with US President Donald Trump. Describing the discussions as highly productive, the Israeli leader said both sides shared complete agreement on preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons while advancing broader security objectives in the region. He characterised the meeting as one of the strongest exchanges he had experienced with an American president, reflecting close coordination between the two governments on key strategic issues.
