Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Information and Public Relations Department will make its monthly magazine ‘Uttar Pradesh Sandesh’ more youth-friendly by introducing English-language articles and a dedicated online platform, Information Director Vishal Singh said on Friday. Speaking at an event where writers of the April-May and June-July editions were honoured, Vishal Singh said the initiative aims to communicate the state’s schemes, achievements and development to Gen Z and Gen Alpha through positive, factual and youth-oriented content. He said the magazine, currently published in Hindi, would add English articles to expand its readership and present Uttar Pradesh’s development from a younger generation’s perspective.
Writers who made outstanding contributions to the April-May and June-July editions of ‘Uttar Pradesh Sandesh’ were honoured for their work across key sectors. The April-May awardees included Pradyumn Tiwari for security and good governance, Payal Lakshmi Soni and Dr Shivani Katara for social welfare, Richa Singh for education, Yashoda Srivastava for agriculture, and Sitaram Pandey ‘Shant’ for infrastructure and allied sectors. For the June-July edition, Dr Saurabh Malviya was recognised for balanced development, Virendra Pathak for agriculture and allied sectors, Rudresh Ghidiyal for urban and rural development, Ravi Prakash for tourism, and Dr Sonali Shubham for education.
Vishal Singh said recognising writers boosts their morale and encourages meaningful contributions to journalism, literature and social service, adding that the department would continue honouring outstanding work. He invited scholars and writers across UP to contribute their ideas, experiences and perspectives to ‘Uttar Pradesh Sandesh’, with the aim of highlighting the state’s development, government initiatives and positive social changes to a wider audience.
Additional Director Arvind Kumar Mishra also addressed the gathering. Senior Finance and Accounts Officer Sanjay Kumar Singh, Assistant Director Satish Chandra Bharti, Chandra Mohan, Dr Jitendra Pratap Singh, Chandra Vijay Verma, Amit Kumar Yadav, Associate Editor Ajay Kumar Dwivedi and Dty Editor Dinesh Kumar Gupta, besides other departmental officials, were present at the event.
