Delhi Horror: Woman Throws Acid on Neighbour Ahead of Wedding, Arrested

A shocking acid attack case has emerged from Delhi, where a 26-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly targeting her 21-year-old neighbour in a premeditated assault linked to a personal relationship dispute.

The victim, who was preparing for her upcoming wedding, is currently receiving treatment at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital for severe burn injuries. According to family members, she has suffered facial damage and is also facing issues with her eyesight following the attack.

Police investigations suggest that the accused was well-known to the victim’s family and had regular access to their home. On the day of the incident, she reportedly visited the house twice.

During her second visit, she asked the victim to help apply henna, claiming she had to attend a function. While the victim was occupied, the accused allegedly used bottles disguised as beverages to carry out the attack.

Family members stated that one container was presented as an energy drink, while another was described as lemon water. Moments later, the accused allegedly threw a corrosive substance on the victim’s face and upper body, causing immediate burns.

The victim rushed to wash off the chemical as her skin and clothing were affected. Neighbours quickly intervened and managed to stop the accused from escaping before police arrived at the scene.

According to investigators, the accused confessed during questioning that she had been emotionally involved with the victim’s fiancé and was unable to accept his upcoming marriage.

Officials revealed that communication records indicate contact between the accused and the man, although his role, if any, is still under examination.

The accused’s family has told police that she had been undergoing treatment for depression for several years and was prone to episodes of anger. Authorities have taken her medical records as part of the ongoing investigation.

A case has been filed under provisions related to acid attacks in the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Gokalpuri police station. Officials are continuing their inquiry to establish the full sequence of events and any additional involvement.

The incident has once again raised serious concerns about personal safety and the devastating consequences of acid attacks.
