Greater Noida: DM Medha Roopam inaugurated the Saras Shop at Vikas Bhawan under the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission (UPSRLM), providing a dedicated platform for women self-help groups (SHGs) to showcase and market their products. After the inauguration, DM reviewed a range of products made by SHG members, including spices, pickles, papad, jute bags, sanitary pads, handicrafts, khadi garments and honey.

Appreciating the quality, packaging and craftsmanship, she praised the women’s hard work, entrepreneurial spirit and contribution towards building an Atmanirbhar Bharat. She also purchased products from the shop to encourage the women entrepreneurs. District Development Officer Shiv Pratap Parmesh said the Saras Shop is helping SHG women expand market access for their products, strengthen their incomes and move towards greater financial independence.

He noted that many women associated with the mission have already become “Lakhpati Didis”, and initiatives like Saras Shop are creating opportunities for them to achieve even higher economic success. Among those present were Project Director Neha, Akhilesh Prajapati (NRLM), Dr Sapna Arya (Vedika Foundation) and members of various self-help groups.
