Delhi Police PCR Vehicles 2026 strengthened with 32 new patrol units to improve emergency response time, mobility and public safety across Delhi.

New Delhi, June 3: Delhi Police has enhanced its emergency response capabilities with the induction of 32 new Police Control Room (PCR) Mobile Patrol Vehicles (MPVs), aimed at improving police mobility, reducing response times and strengthening public safety across the national capital.

The newly inducted PCR vehicles were flagged off from Police Headquarters on Jai Singh Road by David Lalrinsanga, Special Commissioner of Police (Operations, SPUWAC & SPUNER), on Tuesday.

According to Delhi Police, the additional vehicles have been deployed across multiple districts, including South, South West, West, Rohini, Outer, Outer North, North, North East, Shahdara, East, South East and Central districts. The move is expected to enhance area coverage, increase police visibility and improve the responsiveness of PCR units.

The Police Control Room Unit serves as one of Delhi Police’s frontline emergency response mechanisms, providing immediate assistance to citizens in distress and responding to emergency calls while supporting law-and-order operations across the city.

Officials said the induction of the new fleet has been planned particularly for areas witnessing a higher volume of PCR calls. The expanded fleet is expected to significantly reduce police response time and improve the overall efficiency of emergency services.

Delhi Police stated that the upgraded vehicles will strengthen the operational readiness of PCR teams, enabling faster deployment during emergencies and ensuring more effective assistance to citizens.

With the addition of the 32 new patrol vehicles, the total number of PCR Mobile Patrol Vehicles in Delhi has increased from 857 to 889. Officials said the expansion reflects Delhi Police’s continued focus on modernization, technological advancement and citizen-centric policing.

The force expressed confidence that the enhanced fleet strength will further improve public service delivery and contribute to a safer and more secure environment for residents across the capital.
