Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday underlined that a nation‘s advancement is driven by the overall well-being of its people, stating that meaningful and inclusive progress creates stronger momentum for India’s development. He said the government remains committed to expanding the country’s capabilities by ensuring that growth reaches every section of society.
In a post on social media platform X, the Prime Minister shared a traditional Sanskrit Subhashitam that reflects the enduring responsibilities of public representatives towards society and the nation.
The verse calls for the welfare and empowerment of women, the protection and nurturing of children and youth, and sustained efforts to safeguard national unity, security, prosperity, and effective governance. It presents these responsibilities as fundamental duties that every people’s representative should uphold.
Reinforcing this message, the Prime Minister said that genuine national progress is achieved when development brings tangible improvements to the lives of all citizens. He added that this guiding principle continues to shape India’s journey towards becoming a stronger and more capable nation.
The Sanskrit verse shared by the Prime Minister reads:
“कन्यानां सम्प्रदानञ्च कुमाराणाञ्च रक्षणम्।
राष्ट्रस्य सङ्ग्रहे नित्यं विधानमिदमाचरेत्॥”
The verse highlights the timeless ideals of good governance, stressing the importance of social welfare, responsible leadership, and continuous efforts to strengthen the nation’s foundations.
