India Post Mascot Contest official announcement

New Delhi, July 18: The Department of Posts, under the Ministry of Communications, has introduced a nationwide competition inviting people across India to create the official mascot for India Post. The initiative has been launched through the Innovate India MyGov platform and aims to develop a unique visual identity that represents the organisation’s legacy as well as its modern transformation.

The competition is open to all Indian citizens, offering an opportunity for artists, students, graphic designers and creative professionals to contribute to one of the country’s oldest public institutions. Participants are required to submit an original mascot design along with a suitable name and a brief explanation of the concept behind their entry.

According to the Department, the chosen mascot should reflect the values that India Post stands for, including public trust, dependable service, inclusiveness and its growing focus on technology-driven postal and financial services.

The contest will accept entries from July 15 to August 15, 2026, through the MyGov portal. Winners will be selected based on creativity, originality and how effectively the mascot represents the spirit of India Post.

To encourage wider participation, the Department has announced cash rewards worth a total of ₹2 lakh. The top three mascot designs will receive prizes of ₹75,000, ₹50,000, and ₹25,000, while the three best mascot names will be awarded ₹25,000, ₹15,000, and ₹10,000, respectively. Winners in both categories will also receive official certificates.

Once finalised, the winning mascot will serve as the official face of India Post and will be used in advertising campaigns, public outreach programmes, philatelic initiatives, exhibitions, digital platforms and other communication activities.

The Department has encouraged creative minds from across the country to take part in the competition and help shape a fresh and recognisable identity for India Post in the digital era.
