UPSC Direct Recruitment 2026 has officially begun as the Union Public Service Commission invited online applications for multiple vacancies across various Government of India departments. Eligible candidates can apply through the Online Recruitment Application (ORA) portal until July 31, 2026.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has started the application process for direct recruitment to several posts under different departments of the Government of India. Eligible candidates can now submit their applications online through the Commission’s recruitment portal.

According to the Commission, the recruitment drive is being conducted under Advertisement No. 08/2026, which includes details of the available vacancies, eligibility conditions, educational qualifications, age limits, and the selection procedure. Aspirants interested in applying are advised to carefully review the official notification before submitting their applications.

The online registration process commenced on July 11, 2026, and will remain open until July 31, 2026. Applications will be accepted only through the Online Recruitment Application (ORA) system available on the UPSC website.

The Commission has also urged applicants to strictly follow the instructions provided in the detailed advertisement to ensure successful submission of their applications and avoid rejection due to incomplete or incorrect information.

The advertisement covers recruitment for multiple positions across various ministries and departments of the Central Government. The number of vacancies, reservation details, experience requirements, and other service conditions vary depending on the post. Candidates are advised to verify that they meet all prescribed eligibility criteria before submitting their online applications, as applications from ineligible candidates are liable to be rejected at any stage of the recruitment process.

Applicants will be required to upload the necessary documents, including educational qualification certificates, proof of age, category certificates (where applicable), experience certificates, and any other documents specified in the notification. The Commission has advised candidates to keep scanned copies of all required documents ready before beginning the online application process to ensure a smooth registration experience.

UPSC has further clarified that shortlisted candidates may be called for interviews or other stages of selection as prescribed for the respective posts. The final selection will be based on the recruitment rules applicable to each position and subject to verification of documents and fulfillment of all eligibility conditions.

Candidates are also encouraged to retain a printed copy of the submitted application form and payment receipt, wherever applicable, for future reference. The Commission has advised applicants not to wait until the last date for submission, as heavy traffic on the website during the closing days may lead to delays. All updates regarding the recruitment process, interview schedules, and further notifications will be made available on the official UPSC website, and candidates are advised to check it regularly.
