New Delhi, July 18: Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor travelled to the national capital on Saturday to attend the grand red carpet event of ‘Ramayana: Pratham Sankalp’, one of the most anticipated Indian film projects of the year. The special event is being organised at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, ahead of the film’s global promotional campaign.
Ranbir was seen leaving Mumbai earlier in the day before flying to Delhi, where he is expected to join the film’s cast and creators for the high-profile gathering.
Several prominent personalities from the film industry are expected to attend the event, including producer Namit Malhotra, director Nitesh Tiwari, actors Sai Pallavi, Arun Govil, Ravi Dubey, Shobana, Rakul Preet Singh, Kunal Kapoor and Ajinkya Deo, along with poet and author Kumar Vishwas.
The red carpet celebration comes just days before the worldwide release of the film’s official trailer on July 24. The makers have described the project as a visually grand adaptation of the ancient Indian epic, presenting the timeless story of Lord Rama for audiences across the globe.
Adding to the international excitement, the film will also be showcased at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, where a special panel discussion featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Namit Malhotra, and Nitesh Tiwari is scheduled before the trailer launch.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, Ramayana is planned as a two-part cinematic saga inspired by the revered Hindu epic. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman.
The soundtrack has been created through the collaboration of internationally acclaimed composer Hans Zimmer and Oscar-winning music maestro A.R. Rahman. The first chapter of the film is scheduled for a Diwali 2026 theatrical release, while the second instalment is expected to arrive during Diwali 2027.
