New Delhi, April 21, 2026: Delhi Police Academy conducted a specially designed two-day workshop titled “Life After Retirement” for police personnel nearing superannuation. The concluding session of the programme was addressed by Commissioner of Police Delhi, Satish Golchha, at the Adarsh Auditorium in Police Headquarters today.

The workshop, held on April 13 and April 21, was organised for officers and staff from all ranks who are set to retire during March, April and May this year. The initiative aimed to prepare personnel for a smooth transition into post-retirement life by focusing on financial security, health management, mental well-being and future opportunities. A total of 709 retiring police personnel participated in the programme.
Senior officials including Special Commissioner of Police Crime Devesh Chandra Srivastva and Special Commissioner of Police Training Sanjay Kumar were present during the opening session. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Delhi Police Academy, marking the first such structured welfare initiative for retiring personnel.
Experts from reputed institutions such as the Securities and Exchange Board of India SEBI, Union Territories Civil Services UTCS and All India Institute of Medical Sciences AIIMS conducted interactive sessions during the workshop. These sessions covered financial planning, investment awareness, post retirement benefits, pension rules, health management and lifestyle adjustments.
Financial experts provided guidance on budgeting, disciplined savings, investment options including mutual funds, bonds, National Savings Certificates, share markets and gold investments, along with caution against financial frauds targeting senior citizens. UTCS representatives explained gratuity, pension provisions and post superannuation rules in detail.
Health specialists from AIIMS highlighted physical and mental well-being, age related health changes, nutrition requirements, dietary planning and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle after retirement. Sessions were also held on employment opportunities, re engagement options and financial account benefits for retired personnel, with support from banking officials and retired officers.
Addressing the gathering, Commissioner of Police Satish Golchha stated that retirement marks a major life transition after years of disciplined service and dedication. He emphasized the importance of early financial planning and encouraged personnel to remain active, socially connected and mentally engaged for a fulfilling post retirement life. He extended his best wishes to all retiring officers and expressed confidence that the workshop would help them build a secure and balanced future.
Senior officers of Delhi Police including Special Commissioners Robin Hibu, Rajesh Khurana, Neeraj Thakur, Garima Bhatnagar, Ravindra Singh Yadav, Madhup Kumar Tewari, Devesh Chandra Srivastva, David Lalrinsanga, Manish Kumar Agrawal, Ajay Chaudhry, Vijay Kumar, Sanjay Kumar and K Jegadesan were also present on the occasion.
