Mohali, September 9, 2026; Jalandhar Warriors captain Prabhsimran Singh dedicated his team’s seven-run victory over Ludhiana Lions to teammate Anmol Malhotra and his family following the death of Anmol’s mother three days ago.
The Jalandhar Warriors defeated Ludhiana Lions at the I.S. Bindra Stadium in the Sher-E-Punjab T20 League. Before the match, members of the Jalandhar team visited Anmol’s home to express their condolences and stand by the bereaved family during the difficult period.
Despite the personal loss, Anmol remained connected with the team. Prabhsimran said the players wanted to show their solidarity with their teammate by dedicating the victory to him and his family.
“We had a meeting yesterday. We went to Anmol’s house and expressed our deepest condolences. We are indebted to Anmol for contributing to our team despite battling personal grief,” Prabhsimran said after the match.
The Jalandhar skipper also acknowledged the emotional difficulty of returning to the field after suffering such a significant personal loss. He said the team had spoken with Anmol and assured him that he was not alone during the challenging time.
“We stand with him in this tough time. We are family and would always be there for him,” Prabhsimran said.
The emotional gesture came after the Warriors produced a determined team performance to secure victory. Their bowling and fielding played a crucial role in making the difference after the batters faced difficulties at various stages of the match.
For Prabhsimran, the victory represented more than just another result in the tournament. With Anmol and his family going through a difficult period, the Warriors came together as a unit to offer their teammate support and solidarity.
