New Delhi, July 15: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced an additional list of candidates recommended for appointment through the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2025, selecting 16 candidates from the reserve list following a fresh request from the Ministry of Mines.
The latest recommendations come after the Commission had earlier declared the final results of the examination in October 2025, when 80 candidates were recommended for appointment based on merit. As per the examination rules, UPSC had also prepared a reserve list to fill vacancies arising after the declaration of the main results.
Of the newly recommended candidates, 13 have been selected for Hydrogeology-related positions, including Scientist ‘B’ (Hydrogeology), Group ‘A’, and Assistant Hydrogeologist, Group ‘B’. The remaining three candidates have been recommended for Geophysics posts, including Scientist ‘B’ (Geophysics), Group ‘A’, Geophysicist, Group ‘A’, and Assistant Geophysicist, Group ‘B’.
The category-wise distribution of the selected candidates includes four from the General category, seven from OBC, one from EWS and one from SC for Hydrogeology posts. For Geophysics positions, two General category candidates and one EWS candidate have been recommended.
UPSC also stated that the candidature of three candidates remains subject to verification or fulfillment of certain conditions. One candidate has been placed under the conditional category, while two candidates have been recommended on a provisional basis.
The Commission clarified that theMinistry of Mines will directly contact the recommended candidates regarding the next stages of the appointment process.
