Leaks surrounding Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro Max have started surfacing months ahead of its expected September 2026 launch, revealing potential design updates, performance upgrades, and a new colour option that could define the next flagship lineup. According to early reports, Apple may introduce a deep “Dark Cherry” finish for its Pro models, shifting towards more muted and premium aesthetics compared to earlier vibrant colour choices. Alongside this, other expected shades include Light Blue, Dark Grey, and Silver, although final selections may still change before production begins.
Design-wise, the iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to retain its overall familiar structure but with subtle refinements, including a possible reduction in the size of the Dynamic Island to allow for slightly more usable screen space on its 6.9-inch display. On the performance front, the device is tipped to feature Apple’s next-generation A20 chip, reportedly built on a 2nm process, which could deliver improved speed and significantly better power efficiency compared to previous models.
Battery upgrades are also expected, with rumours suggesting a larger capacity battery in the range of 5,100 to 5,200mAh, potentially making it the biggest battery ever on an iPhone Pro Max model. Additionally, Apple may introduce its in-house C2 modem, reducing reliance on third-party components.
Pricing leaks indicate that the Pro Max variant could start around $1,199 in global markets, while Indian pricing may see slight increases due to import and component costs. The official launch is expected during Apple’s traditional September event window, possibly alongside a new foldable iPhone model. However, since Apple has not confirmed any details, these remain early-stage leaks and are subject to change before the official announcement.
