New Delhi: Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport has rolled out a new digital initiative aimed at making air travel smoother, especially for first-time flyers and international passengers. The airport has introduced QR code-enabled video tutorials to guide travellers through key stages of their journey.
Developed by Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), the initiative—titled ‘Your Terminal Companion’—features a collection of 24 short videos designed to assist passengers at every stage, including departure, transit, and arrival.
The videos provide detailed guidance on essential airport processes such as check-in, security screening, immigration clearance, baggage collection, and onward connections. Officials said the content is organised around common travel scenarios to make navigation easier and more intuitive.
Passengers can access these tutorials by scanning QR codes installed across different terminals. The videos are also available on the airport’s official website and YouTube channel, ensuring easy access before and during travel.
To cater to a diverse passenger base, the series has been made available in 20 languages, including major global languages like English, Mandarin, Arabic, and French, along with several Indian regional languages.
Airport authorities said the initiative is particularly useful for solo travellers, senior citizens, and those unfamiliar with airport procedures, offering them a reliable and easy-to-understand guide.
During its pilot phase over the past few months, the video series recorded more than two lakh organic views, indicating strong engagement. Officials noted that the tutorials have already helped address a significant portion of passenger queries by offering real-time assistance.
DIAL CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuriar said the move is part of the airport’s broader effort to improve passenger experience through technology and inclusivity.
He added that the initiative is designed to ensure that travellers, regardless of their background or familiarity with air travel, can navigate the airport with confidence.
