A minor ground incident involving two commercial aircraft was reported at Indira Gandhi International Airport on Thursday afternoon, when planes operated by Akasa Air and SpiceJet came into contact while taxiing near Terminal 1. The occurrence took place around 2:15 pm during routine aircraft movement on the runway.
According to initial information, the Akasa Air flight, which was preparing for departure to Hyderabad, was moving out from its parking position at the same time a SpiceJet aircraft arriving from Leh was taxiing towards its designated stand. During this movement, the two aircraft were involved in a low-impact collision.
Officials confirmed that the matter was immediately reported to the relevant aviation and airport authorities. There have been no reports of injuries, and further details regarding the extent of damage or operational impact are awaited as authorities review the situation.
