Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel Leads Cleanliness and Tree Plantation Drive at AQCS under Special Campaign 5.0

The initiative by the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying highlighted environmental responsibility, improved infrastructure, and achieved ₹5.54 lakh through scrap disposal.

New Delhi, October 30, 2025 — The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD), under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, organized a comprehensive cleanliness and tree plantation drive on October 29, 2025, at the Animal Quarantine & Certification Services (AQCS), New Delhi, as part of Special Campaign 5.0.

The event was led by Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying and Panchayati Raj, Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel, in the presence of Secretary DAHD, Naresh Pal Gangwar, and other senior officials.

During his visit, Prof. Baghel inspected AQCS facilities, commending the high standards of cleanliness, infrastructure, and management. He lauded the center’s role as India’s key gateway for the import of healthy animals, ensuring that all incoming consignments undergo proper scientific quarantine and health checks.

The campaign witnessed enthusiastic participation from AQCS staff, who cleaned the premises, disposed of obsolete materials, and reorganized office spaces. As part of Special Campaign 5.0, DAHD achieved remarkable progress in administrative efficiency, including file reviews, grievance redressal, and resource optimization. The department also generated ₹5.54 lakh through the sale of scrap and redundant materials.

Key Achievements under Special Campaign 5.0

A tree plantation activity was also carried out under the initiative #EkPedMaaKeNaam, where Prof. Baghel planted a sapling as a symbol of gratitude to Mother Nature. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the urgent need to address global warming and encouraged citizens to take collective responsibility towards environmental conservation.

The drive reflected the ministry’s ongoing efforts to integrate clean governance, sustainability, and community participation under the broader vision of a cleaner, greener India.
