Nipah virus cases in Kerala: Tamil Nadu has increased measures to screen individuals at border areas

In Tamil Nadu, the government has intensified monitoring for the Nipah virus in border districts, starting with the Nilgiris district. Screening and monitoring measures have been implemented for tourists and individuals entering Tamil Nadu from Kerala.

Fifteen teams, each consisting of three members, have been formed to carry out testing and health monitoring of those crossing the border. These teams are tasked with ensuring that individuals are checked for symptoms and that any potential cases are managed promptly to prevent the spread of the virus.
