Faridabad: Faridabad Police, in collaboration with the Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau (HSNCB), concluded the 16-day ‘Drugs Free Haryana’ campaign with a joint awareness programme at the NHPC Complex on Surajkund Road on the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

The campaign, launched from Sirsa on June 11, was organised under the vision of CM Nayab Singh Saini, with the guidance of Haryana DGP Ajay Singhal, Additional DGP Sanjay Kumar, and the coordination of Faridabad CP Satender Kumar Gupta. The programme was organised with the support of NHPC CMD Bhupender Gupta. Ashutosh Mishra, General Manager, NHPC, inaugurated the event, while Rajesh, General Manager, NHPC, delivered the vote of thanks.

DCP Traffic Jaiveer Rathi presided over the programme. Addressing the gathering, DCP Headquarters Himadri Kaushik said Faridabad Police has organised over 500 anti-drug awareness programmes, reaching nearly 2.5 lakh people in the past year. She said determination, family support, and sports can help individuals overcome drug addiction, and urged citizens to spread awareness and support the fight against drug abuse.

NHPC health experts Dr. Vatsal and Dr. Satarupa Bhattacharya also addressed the gathering, with Dr. Bhattacharya stating, “If there are people in uniform, we are safe.” The programme was conducted by Rajeev Ranjan, Outreach In-charge, Office of the DGP, Haryana. According to the police spokesperson, the 16-day ‘Drugs Free Haryana’ campaign concluded in Faridabad on June 26 after covering eight districts across Haryana. Inspector Sunita highlighted Faridabad Police’s awareness initiatives, while anti-drug paintings by students and artists drew attention.

The spokesperson also said Faridabad Police has continued its crackdown on drug traffickers, registering 467 NDPS cases in 2025 and 238 cases so far in 2026, with significant arrests and narcotics seizures. The programme was attended by principals, teachers, students, Health Department officials, and senior officers from Faridabad Police and the Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau, including ACP Vinod Kumar, ACP Ravi Kumar, and DSP Jitender Rana.
