80th Independence Day Celebrated with Enthusiasm and Festive Spirit at Type-5, Sarojini Nagar

Type-5, Sarojini Nagar celebrates 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour, cultural performances and community participation.

New Delhi, August 15, 2026: The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour, cultural festivities and strong community participation at the Type-5, Sarojini Nagar residential complex. The programme began with a senior citizen unfurling the National Flag, followed by the singing of the National Anthem by officers, residents and their families.

A range of competitions and cultural activities were organised for children living in the complex. The young participants showcased their talent through patriotic solo songs, cultural dances, a general knowledge quiz and other creative performances. Their enthusiastic presentations brought the celebrations to life, with parents and residents cheering and encouraging the children.

The present identity of Type-5, Sarojini Nagar is particularly noteworthy. Following its inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 8, 2026, the complex has, in a relatively short period, developed into a well-organised residential area as well as a vibrant community reflecting a strong spirit of cultural and civic unity.

The residential complex has been developed by NBCC (National Buildings Construction Corporation), a public sector undertaking under the Government of India’s Ministry of Urban Development. It houses senior officials from various government departments, along with senior officers of the armed and paramilitary forces and their families.

The diverse backgrounds and services represented within the complex have fostered a strong sense of community participation, mutual cooperation and togetherness, contributing to the development of a vibrant residential community.

The Independence Day celebrations reflected this community spirit, with people across generations—from senior citizens to children—participating with great enthusiasm. The event not only marked the national festival with joy and pride but also reinforced the values of collective responsibility, civic unity and commitment to the nation.
