‘Martyrs’ Sacrifice Gave Us Freedom; Upholding Their Ideals Is Our Duty: Haryana Cabinet Minister Vipul Goel

Faridabad: Haryana Cabinet Minister Vipul Goel unfurled the national flag at Faridabad’s 80th Independence Day celebrations and inspected the parade. Earlier, he paid tribute to freedom fighters and soldiers at the Shaheed Memorial, urging citizens to uphold their ideals and extending greetings on Independence Day and Hariyali Teej.

He said Haryana has provided government jobs to 425 dependants of martyrs over the past 12 years, while the state’s GSDP is estimated at ₹15.18 lakh crore in 2026-27, driven by agriculture, industry and services. He highlighted the Jind-Sonipat hydrogen train as a step towards cleaner transport and outlined welfare measures including ₹71,000 marriage assistance, healthcare cover of up to ₹5 lakh, MSP procurement for 24 crops and ₹2,100 monthly assistance for women. He also called for collective action against drug abuse and said youth would play a key role in building a developed India by 2047.

Cabinet Minister Vipul Goel said transparent and citizen-centric governance was being strengthened through technology, online portals and digital services, while merit-based employment and skill development were being promoted. He called for collective efforts to build a developed India and Haryana by 2047, with prosperity for farmers, opportunities for youth, empowerment of women and balanced development of rural and urban areas. At the ceremony, Goel also announced sports shoes for students who participated in Independence Day events and declared Monday a holiday for schools in view of their participation.
