PM Narendra Modi Highlights India’s Timeless Heritage, Showcases Welfare Push in Karnataka

Mandya, April 15, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised India’s rich civilisational legacy during his visit to Karnataka, while also highlighting key welfare schemes aimed at improving the lives of citizens.

Addressing a gathering in Mandya, the Prime Minister described India as a civilisation that has flourished for thousands of years, noting that very few countries possess such enduring cultural traditions. He emphasised that this deep rooted heritage continues to shape the nation’s identity and values.

Referring to the spiritual significance of the Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Math, he said it represents a continuous cultural and spiritual tradition spanning centuries. He added that such institutions serve as living examples of India’s enduring legacy and societal guidance.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the contributions of spiritual leaders, stating that they have historically played a key role in guiding society and supporting people during difficult times. Their teachings, he noted, have helped shape social harmony and collective resilience.

On the development front, Modi spoke about major welfare initiatives launched by the government, particularly focusing on healthcare schemes aimed at the underprivileged. He pointed out that large numbers of citizens have benefited from free medical treatment under flagship programmes.

He further announced that such welfare measures are being expanded to ensure wider coverage, including support for elderly citizens, reinforcing the government’s commitment to inclusive growth and social security.

During the visit, the Prime Minister also inaugurated a memorial dedicated to a revered seer, describing it as a tribute to a life devoted to service and social upliftment. The structure has been designed to inspire future generations and preserve the teachings of the spiritual leader.
