Odisha CM Mohan Majhi Commences Operations at Lok Seva Bhawan.

Bhubaneswar, July 4 2024 : Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi officially commenced work at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar today. Previously operating from a temporary office at the State Guest House during renovations at the Chief Minister’s office on the third floor of Lok Seva Bhawan, CM Majhi’s move was marked by the presence of Deputy Chief Ministers Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, along with cabinet members.

Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Nikunja Bihari Dhal, and other officials from the Chief Minister’s office were also present to greet CM Majhi.

Addressing the media, CM Majhi emphasized his directive for all documents to be presented in Odia. He underscored his administration’s focus on the geographical and cultural advancement of Odisha, emphasizing the establishment, growth, preservation, and promotion of ‘Odia Asmita’ (Odia pride).

Key initiatives highlighted by CM Majhi included plans to reorganize and enhance the efficiency of Odisha’s academies in literature, music and drama, and visual arts. He announced the operationalization of the Odissi Research Center and initiatives to promote qualitative research on ‘Odia Asmita’ and encourage reading habits among the populace through systematic library movements.

The CM also announced the establishment of a Translation Academy to propagate Oriya language and literature, and the utilization of modern technology for language development. Plans for an Odia Asmita Bhawan, establishment of a Language Commission, and amendments to the ‘Odisha Official Language Act’ were also discussed.

CM Majhi stressed the promotion of district-specific art and culture through integrated cultural buildings and highlighted efforts to expedite construction at the Paika Academy and monument at Barunei. He affirmed the government’s commitment to prioritize heritage site development in consultation with the public.

Encouraging public participation, CM Majhi invited suggestions for further advancements in ‘Odia Asmita’ and outlined plans for the application of scientific techniques to enhance the widespread use of the Odia language across public and private sectors.
