New Delhi, May 12, 2026: The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre under the Ministry of Home Affairs has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Reserve Bank Innovation Hub to enhance efforts in detecting and eliminating mule accounts used in cyber financial frauds across the country.
The collaboration is designed to strengthen intelligence sharing, analytical support, and operational coordination between cybersecurity and financial technology systems, enabling faster identification of suspicious accounts linked to cybercrime networks.
Under this initiative, data from the I4C Suspect Registry will be integrated with advanced artificial intelligence based fraud detection systems such as MuleHunter.ai to improve early warning capabilities and block fraudulent financial activities.
Officials said the system will act as a next generation digital safeguard for citizens by helping banks and financial institutions identify hidden mule accounts more efficiently and prevent misuse of the banking ecosystem.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the government is continuously working towards building a cyber secure India and emphasized that mule accounts remain a major challenge in combating cybercrime across digital platforms.
The partnership between I4C and RBI Innovation Hub is expected to significantly enhance the country’s cyber defense infrastructure by combining technology driven solutions with real time intelligence to protect citizens from financial fraud.
